Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross celebrates official launch

Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross celebrations
Following a £20m complete top to toe refurbishment The Bellhouse Hotel officially opened its doors as the Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross yesterday evening, Thursday 24th September.
Having been inaugurated into the Crowne Plaza portfolio the hotel promises to deliver the quality and trusted service synonymous with the Crowne Plaza brand but with a very distinct identity. Local Dignitaries including the Mayor of Beaconsfield, John Read; South Bucks District Councillors, Chiltern District Councillors, Beaconsfield Town Councillors and Senior IHG Partners joined General Manager David Jones and over 200 guests to celebrate the official opening which started at 7pm.

Described as “a celebration of both town & country” the 138-bedroomed four-star hotel, spa and events centre is set at the base of the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty and is just 17mins from the centre of London providing the ideal weekend retreat for city dwellers seeking an escape, or business trip base.

The Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross boasts an impressive list of individual parts adding up to one unforgettable experience.

In-keeping with the hotel’s rich automotive history, BMW Group subsidiary Designworks were called upon to devise innovation principles for the extensive meeting and events space; a first for a branded hotel. Providing the perfect venue for weddings, conferences or events, this 6500sqm ‘styled with substance’ space features two large conference and banqueting spaces seating up to 350 and 260 persons respectively, 6 meeting rooms, Creative Attic, breakout bar and landscaped garden.

1269; the year the neighbouring town of Beaconsfield was first given a charter allowing an annual market for trading livestock, also provides the name and inspiration for the hotel’s destination bar and restaurant. 1269 Restaurant & Bar specialises in livestock, game and butcher-style preparation. Signature dishes created by award-winning Head Chef Dean Crews, previously of the Charing Cross Hotel, include Josper roasted Buccleuch Estate Beef, aged for 28 days in 1269’s in-house ageing room and salad of Denham Wood Pigeon, choucroute, parsnip and speck ham. Designed by SuperFutures, the team behind Chotto Matte and Barrafina, the statement pieces of the restaurant will be a freshly hung meat display, a Whisky vault and a bourbon focused drinks menu to rival any London bar.

Wave Spa and Wellness Centre offers a relaxing and rejuvenating retreat with 15m pool, sauna, steam room and 5 treatment rooms including a Rasul™ Mud Therapy room. An array of ESPA and Jessica treatments for men, women and mums-to-be are available, whilst Wave’s expert team of fitness instructors and nutritionists will support, motivate and create the perfect personalised plan for you. If you’re looking for more high-energy activity the state-of-the-art Precor gym and two exercise suites providing classes from Spinning and Pilates to the brand new yoga concept; Yin & Yang Yoga, will put you through your paces. Re-energise and cleanse from the inside out at Wave Juice Bar where the menu is based on the philosophy of healthy, nutritious and balanced tastes offering the “best of what nature has”. Choose from the finest hand-crafted organic juices, freshly made immune boosting shots and energy rich food.

The 138 bedrooms are spacious with contemporary furnishings and luxury touches such as complimentary mini bars, Espa toiletries and LED Smart TVs. The décor contrasts bright blocks of uplifting orange, with warm walnut wood, crisp, white inviting bed linen and classic, stylish textured herringbone throws. Rooms are available from £140 for a standard double up to a Junior Suite.

Most of all the hotel offers a discretion of service and attention to detail that pre-empts requests, considers every eventuality and serves without distraction – a truly distinctive offering.
