This September to November 2015, the long-awaited tasting experience across the six prefectures of the Tohoku region, Japan comes to an endThis autumn, guests staying at the luxurious Park Hyatt Tokyo will be able to enjoy a once in a lifetime culinary journey, created especially by Chef de Cuisine Kenichiro Ooe of Kozue, the Japanese restaurant located on the 40th floor of the five-star hotel. Between September and November 2015, Chef Ooe will create a special series of menus featuring choice items from producers he has visited and personally selected from the prefectures of Akita, Yamagata, and Aomori in the Tohoku region.
“Tohoku Heroes” was a culinary journey led by Chef Ooe, a Tohoku native from Yamagata Prefecture, to help struggling farms that were affected by the aftermath of the great Tohoku earthquake and tsunami on March 11th, 2011. Chef Ooe’s goal was to showcase the quality local produce sourced from the mountains and the ocean of Tohoku that were cleared as safe from radiation, to restore merit to the region.
Bringing the last leg of this culinary adventure, the “heroes” from the last three featured Tohoku prefectures will gather for a special finale dinner on Sunday 29th November 2015.
Guests of Park Hyatt Tokyo can expect a series of exquisite and visually stunning menus created by Chef de Cuisine Kenichiro Ooe during the special “Tohoku Heroes” period at Kozue.
