Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants invites guests to unplug on a digital-detox break with tech-free packages in Washington,D.C., Arizona and Portland

With 84% of British holidaymakers checking their electronic devices and choosing to buy extra internet data when on holiday, the number of British travellers looking for ‘digital downtime’ is rapidly increasing. Instead of logging on this summer, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, a long-time supporter of quality time and wellness, is introducing its guests to a tech-free alternative encouraging families and couples to spend quality time with each other on holiday while disconnecting from their electronic devices.

Guests visiting Sedona in Arizona, Washington D.C. or Portland this summer, can choose from a selection of tech-free packages including the ‘Whole Body De-Stress’ package at the Amara Resort and Spa. The Topaz Hotel’s Serenity Suite in Washington D.C. offers guests the option to surrender their electronic devices at the front desk in exchange for a £19 ($30) in-room spa credit, while Kimpton’s RiverPlace Hotel in Portland treats guests to a ‘Romantic Revival’ package with all electronic devices looked after by the hotel’s staff.

‘Whole Body De-Stress’ Package at Amara Resort and Spa, Sedona 
For guests looking for a work-free holiday, Kimpton hotels’ Rock Country property, Amara Resort and Spa, is set to add another dimension of peace and tranquillity to their stay. Located in Sedona’s high desert, Amara Spa allows guests to relax and surrender to the natural beauty of rock panoramas with its ‘Whole Body De-Stress’ package. Guests can switch off their electronic devices and indulge in a three-hour spa treatment including a detox wrap, therapeutic massage and custom facial. The spa package is available from £225 ($350) per person and in addition, accommodation costs from £218 ($339) per room, per night**.

Ditch your Smartphone and Surrender to the Serenity Suite at the Topaz Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Kimpton’s Topaz Hotel, located in Washington, D.C., allows guests to escape from the busy city and relax in the serenity of the hotel’s premiere guestroom, The Serenity Suite. The 475-feet guestroom features a 37-inch flat panel TV, a bar offering organic products, a living room and Kimpton’s signature animal print robes. Kimpton’s RiverPlace Hotel helps guests disconnect and connect with their loved ones with its ‘Romantic Revival’ package. Kimpton staff will keep guests’ personal electronic devices in a private office safe and let visitors spend a special night without digital distractions. This package also includes a bottle of sparkling wine, local chocolate truffles, 2:00pm late check-out, luxurious and local Rose City bath amenities as well as a private bath butler (upon request) to draw guests a personal bath in one of the hotels’ luxurious tubs.
