The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa launches luxury Champagne Taittinger Escape

To celebrate The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa’s partnership with Champagne House Taittinger, the hotel has launched a two-night ‘Champagne Taittinger Escape’ experience. Offering guests the chance to experience the ultimate luxury in one of the UK’s most iconic heritage hotels whilst indulging in one of the world’s finest Champagnes throughout their stay.

The experience includes a stay in a luxury heritage suite, a decadent Champagne Afternoon Tea in the private & secluded Royal Crescent Hotel Gardens, a Champagne Taittinger tasting with a seven-course dinner, a couples massage, and a Champagne Taittinger picnic set on the picturesque Royal Crescent Lawns.

Upon arrival at the hotel, guests booking the Taittinger Escape, will be welcomed into one of the beautifully restored heritage suites with the fresh scent of a bouquet of Comtes de Champagne Roses. The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa put the finishing touches to these historic suites last month following a meticulous restoration process. The suites now take their names from the notable figures of the past that have graced the Crescent such as The Duke of York and Elizabeth Montagu.

The stunning view of the famous Royal Crescent Lawn, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will entice guests out of their suite and outside where they will enjoy a beautiful Champagne Taittinger picnic in one of the UK’s most spectacular settings.  Guests will be able to relax on a picnic rug, whilst enjoying the beautiful views over Bath. The Mansion Butler will be on hand to pour the first glass of Champagne Taittinger Folies de la Marquetterie NV, after which they will serve the luxury picnic including; Smoked Salmon, King Prawns and Lemon, Spiced Goats Curd, Lemon and Chive Choux Bun as well as Somerset Strawberries with Vanilla Sugar.

The package also includes a Champagne Taittinger tasting with the hotel’s head sommelier, Jean Marc Leitao, who will take guests on a journey from grape to glass, before they sit down to a delicious seven-course tasting menu in The Dower House Restaurant.  Dishes created by Executive Head Chef David Campbell will be accompanied by a selection of Taittinger Champagnes, each glass perfectly befitting every carefully crafted dish. (Champagnes for the tasting include; Champagne Taittinger Prelude Grands Crus NV, Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 2005, Comtes de Champagne Rosè Brut 2005.)

The Champagne will continue to flow in The Spa & Bath House where guests will relax with a Royal Crescent Couples Massage, indulging in the aromas of ESPA and Bath Spa Skincare before reclining in the Hotel’s Champagne Taittinger Spa Garden with a glass of Champagne to revitalise the senses.

For those with room left to indulge even more, the Champagne Taittinger Escape also includes Afternoon Tea in the Hotel’s private gardens. The Hotel’s new Afternoon Tea menu features teas inspired by the hotel’s notable guests of the past and shakes up the traditions of ‘tea time’ by offering menus to suit light lunches and early evening aperitifs. Guests can choose from The Duke of York Afternoon Tea, The Elizabeth Montagu Afternoon Tea or the classic Royal Crescent Afternoon Tea - all accompanied by a flight of Champagne Taittinger.

Jonathan Stapleton, General Manager of The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa, comments: "The Champagne Taittinger escape celebrates the partnership between two iconic brands, Champagne Taittinger and The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa. Guests of the package will experience the exquisite offerings of the Hotel all accompanied by one of the finest champagne houses.
