Take the Board to Bordeaux with Le Saint-James

Gastronomic hotel Le Saint-James is located in the village of Bouliac just 15 minutes from the centre of Bordeaux and 20 minutes from Bordeaux Airport. For overnight bookings of 6 people or more, the 18 bedroom Relais & Chateaux hotel is now offering a free cookery lesson in their state of the art cookery school, or free wine tasting.

The contemporary hotel was custom designed by iconic architect Jean Nouvel. The focal point for all 18 bedrooms are the stunning views, with each bed in line with the expansive windows, providing panoramic views over the hotel's vineyards, outdoor heated swimming pool, the River Garonne and Bordeaux in the distance.

The hotel’s gastronomic restaurant is headed up by Michelin starred chef Nicolas Magie and is widely regarded as one of the finest restaurants in the Aquitaine region.

The fun and relaxed cooking classes take place in the hotel’s on-site cookery school, "Côté Cours" and can be tailored according to the varying abilities of delegates. Budding cooks are taught skills such as how to prepare fresh scallops to make simple, yet colourful and creative dishes to be enjoyed in the cookery school with a glass of wine.

The other option available for corporate groups is a complimentary wine tasting with the hotel’s head Sommelier, Richard Bernard, who is one of the most highly acclaimed sommeliers in France. He takes groups on an enchanting journey through the history of wine in France, explaining how Bordeaux became the wine capital of the world. Examples of some of the wines that may be tasted are one white, Château Carbonnieux 2011 – Pessac Léognan, a red Ségla 2004 – Margaux, as well as the hotel’s own red merlot, Le Vin Du Jardin.

Le Saint-James provides a spectacular setting for the staging of incentives, events, receptions and seminars. There is fast Wi-Fi throughout and a contemporary and high-tech meetings space for up to 50 delegates. There is also an outdoor terrace where corporate events for up to 200 people can be catered for. Le Saint-James is also available for exclusive use bookings.

The hotel owns Le Café De L’Esperance, a traditional bistro that’s just a minute’s walk away in the heart of the beautiful village of Bouliac. The bistro sells rotisserie dishes and a tantalising selection of homemade desserts that attract visitors from far and wide.

As well as being within a 15 minute drive of Bordeaux, the hotel is in a central position to explore the rest of the wine region and is just 25 minutes from St Émilion. Le Saint-James is also just a 50 minute drive from the famous Arcachon Bay.

An overnight stay at Le Saint-James starts at €195 per room.
