Pine Cliffs Resort welcomes star Chef Marcus Eaves for 'Cooking Through Generations' event

Chef-Director of London’s Michelin-starred Pied à Terre to host annual culinary showcase on 29 May

Portugal’s leading luxury lifestyle destination, Pine Cliffs Resort, has announced the stellar guest chef for its annual ‘Cooking Through Generations’ event: Marcus Eaves, renowned Chef-Director of London’s Michelin-starred Pied à Terre. On the evening of 29 May, in keeping with the event’s theme, Marcus will present a specially-created five-course tasting menu which celebrates the foodie traditions of family and friends who inspired his career and influenced his own signature style. A limited number of seats for Marcus’ ‘Cooking Through Generations’ dinner will be available to resort guests from €70 per person, including wine pairing. Marcus will also personally host a kitchen workshop and chef’s table lunch for selected media on 29 May.

Taking place in Pine Cliffs Resorts’ elegant Clubhouse Pavilion, Marcus Eaves’ exclusive tasting menu was inspired by the eye-opening school holidays he spent going to work with his chef father, washing dishes while soaking up his first formative experiences of being in a real professional kitchen. The one-off menu comprises innovative and evocative dishes such as Crab with White Peach, Asparagus, Peas and Mint; Marinated Scallops with Cucumber and Horseradish; Fillet of Beef with Wild Mushrooms and Madeira; Mandarin, Mango and Coconut; and Tonka Bean Cheesecake with English Strawberries, Wild Strawberry Sorbet and Lemon Verbena.  

Marcus began his career at the Michelin-starred Simpsons in Kenilworth, where he was named ‘Midlands Young Chef of the Year’, before spending five years building his experience and reputation in Michelin-starred kitchens across the UK. He rose to prominence after opening L’Autre Pied restaurant in London’s Marylebone at the age of 26, earning a string of accolades and rave reviews - including his first Michelin star after just 14 months. Most recently, Marcus returned to head up the Pied à Terre kitchen, achieving the highest possible food score in the Harden's survey and being categorised as "extraordinary to perfection" according to the Zagat Guide.

This exclusive occasion will be the fifth edition of Pine Cliffs Resort’s annual ‘Cooking Through Generations’ gourmet event – an annual celebration of the personal culinary experiences, backgrounds and legacies that have inspired some of the world’s finest chefs. Previous years’ guest chefs have included Philippe Brun, chef/owner of the Michelin-starred Haut Allier restaurant in France; Marc Fosh, British head chef of the Michelin-starred Simply Fosh restaurant in Mallorca; and “the UK’s youngest head chef”, Luke Thomas of Luke’s Dining Room.
