Meliá Doha, Qatar
Meliá Hotels International has opened the doors to one of the most recent hotels to join their portfolio of managed properties. Now operating in 43 countries, the Spanish company enhances its position in an emerging hotel market of countries under the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Meliá Doha’s 282 rooms will include 35 suites, ranging from the Executive Suite to the spectacular Royal Suite. Meliá Doha will also hold a wide range of international and specialist restaurants, pools, a complete fitness suite and spas offering a wide range of beauty and wellness treatments.

The 40-floor Bin Samikh Tower will host the new Meliá Doha, which will cover a surface area of more than 62,000 square meters. Located in West Bay, the most prestigious district in Doha, the Bin Samikh Tower was designed to house a five star hotel of the highest standard, with Meliá competing with luxury international hotel brands such as Waldorf, Starwood (W Hotels), Kempinski Residences and Suites, Intercontinental, Hilton and the Marriott Marquis City, among others.

Meliá Hotels International's chief executive and vice-chairman, Gabriel Escarrer, said: "The Arabian Gulf is a natural focus for the expansion of luxury hotel brands, and Qatar, with the highest per capita income in the world and a growing influence in the world, will be an exceptional location for business and for our positioning as a leading hotel management company.”

The signature in Doha was made in October by the Chairman and CEO of the prestigious real estate firm Tamniyat Qatar Real Estate Investment, His Excellency Dr. Ali Bin Samikh Al Marri and Dr. Braik Saeed Al Marri respectively, and the Vice President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer, accompanied by his EVP Hotels, André Gerondeau, Director of Expansion, María Zarraluqui.
