City Seasons Dubai Hotel awarded Merit certificate in two categories at prestigious competitionEach year, Gulf Food exhibition features a culinary competition with participation from most of the hotels in Dubai; this year 1250 chefs have competed in more than 50 different categories ranging from wedding cakes, canapés platter, live cooking competitions to name just a few.
Participating hotels are 4-star and 5-star including international chains and prestigious names in the hospitality industry.
City Seasons Hotel Dubai have won 4th place in two major categories: the 4 plates desserts presentation ( 2 entries ) and the 5-course gourmet menu presentation.
“We are proud of such achievement, said Mr. Mohammed Al Aamri, Managing Director for City Seasons Hotels. “Although our properties have a small number of F&B venues, we do strive to offer a good combination of hearty food, comfortable setting and great service for a family-friendly place. Achieving such merit is a proof of the same family spirit that we encourage among our team”, he added.
The dessert presentations were done by assistant pastry chef Hassan Mohammed and Commis 1Tharindu Kavinda while the 5-course gourmet menu was presented by Demi Chef de partie, Ayub Mohammed.
In addition,Chef Hassan and Tharindu have been selected to be members of the Emirates Culinary Guild, which means Hassan could be also selected as a judge for future competitions.
“We were pleased to know our City Seasons Hotel Dubai came 4th and awarded Merit Certificate, said Christian Palacin the General Manager of the hotel. "This has taken our team a lot of efforts in the planning and the execution, especially considering the high occupancy of the hotel for the past week and the creativity displayed in the final presentation certainly is outstanding and we are very fortunate to have these associates as part of our team…..this is a very proud moment and a great achievement," he added.
