Santavenere Hotel's new 'Le Terme Spa' to open February 2015

Santavenere Hotel has announced the launch of its new Le Terme Spa: a Roman-inspired retreat opening at the end of February 2015.  Representing a 1 million Euro investment – and an ingenious ‘exclusivity’ vision – the Spa has been designed to offer the ultimate in relaxation and rejuvenation with its private-use policy: only a single guest (couple or family) may utilise the spa at any given time.

Inspired by the Roman Baths at nearby Pompeii, Le Terme Spa draws design and therapeutic cues from ancient times, melding these with scientific advancement and local expertise to offer a haven of holistic healing. Natural materials adorn the walls – Neapolitan Tufo embellished with recreated Pompeii frescos – while the evocative elements of water, wood, colour, sound and scent reflect an ambience of inner and outer wellbeing. Echoing this concept, the Spa occupies the ground level of the hotel: 300 sq. m. of indoor spa space that spills into the gardens to offer 300 sq. m. of outdoor spa space.

Facilities include five treatment rooms, a mini SPA, shiatsu room, sunroom with gold sand and cell stimulating sunlamps, salt room (Himalayan and Sicilian salt), sea-water hydromassage pool, sauna, emotional showers, Turkish bath and two relaxation rooms serving post-treatment health drinks (relaxing carrot and celery; refreshing citrus and apple; reinvigorating aloe and cinnamon).

Spa: CSEN certified staff (recognised by the Italian National Olympic Committee); La Cremerie 100% Italian spa products – natural active ingredients, rigorously handmade and free from synthetic colours; and an exclusive ‘Santavenere’ product range created at a local Lauria farm who are research leaders in the cultivation of ‘jenny milk’ and ‘snail slime’ – ensuring an expansive and ‘industry-exciting’ spa menu.  Signature Treatments: Vibration Therapy & Sound Massage and Venus Miracle immersion. Using a combination of Tibetan Bowls and Diapason Therapy, the spa offers a nourishing and self-healing range of Sound Massages including ‘Santavenere Experience’, ‘Salute to the Sun with Tibetan Bowls’, ‘Seishin Massage’ and ‘Bars – 60°’.   Venus Miracle is ancient Roman inspired therapy, an evocative immersion in rare, therapeutic ‘jenny milk’ and ‘snail nectar’ – a sensory experience for skin and soul.

From Four Handed and Couples Massages to Shiatsu and Lymphatic Drainage; Mud Therapy to Hydromassage; Pomegranate and Kiwi body treatment to Blueberry and Menthol tired legs therapy; Tribal Hammam experience to facial treatments with 24k gold, caviar or orchid; cellulite busting Soft Plus treatments to osteopathy, physiotherapy and kinesiology; naturopathic advice ranging from iridology and food intolerance to bach flower, calliper and skin testing – Le Terme Spa offers a world of wellness choices.

Fitness: a personal trainer is available to guide guests on a ‘cardio fitness trail’ (treadmill, bike and stepper); suggest and support aerobic floor training, high intensity interval training and low impact exercises; as well as tailor stretching and Pilates workouts.  The highly focused, one-on-one sessions ensure maximise benefits, whether kick-starting or maintaining a personal regime.  A tennis court and five-a-side football court are also available.

Nutrition: in residence biologist and nutritionist, Dr. Francesco Garritano, adopts the GIFT diet approach (gradual-varied-flexible-toning), helping guests re-educate their body to healthy eating.  GIFT focuses on the metabolism – teaching the brain to prefer ‘good’ ingredients – allowing the body to maintain muscle mass while gradually eliminating fat and water retention.  A personal consultation with Dr. Garritano will determine a bespoke programme and the most appropriate nutritional investigations: helicobacter pylori test, various intolerance tests, metabolism tests, various DNA tests, bioelectrical impedance test, indirect calorimetry test, adipometry and metabolic holter.
