Grade II listed Grey Street Hotel, Newcastle upon Tyne, takes its name from the street, which is not only one of the finest examples of Regency architecture in the country, but was described by Prime Minister William Gladstone in 1862 as "our best modern street."
In the latest stage of a phased refurbishment timed to coincide with its 10th anniversary, the 49-bedroom hotel has created a range of facilities designed to appeal to corporate guests, including a state-of-the-art function room and a range of flexible and bespoke corporate packages.
The hotel, at the heart of the city centre, hopes its new suite, which holds up to 80 delegates, will strengthen its appeal to local companies looking for a meeting venue as well as businesses travelling to the city from further afield.
The suite can be arranged in a choice of layouts and provides full audio visual connectivity and complimentary Wi-Fi.
The hotel, owned by the Newcastle-based Malhotra Group, also offers corporate packages for clients wishing to host a variety of corporate and social events, while access to local gyms, discounted spa treatments at nearby venues, a same day laundry service and i-pod docking stations are also available upon request.
The Malhotra Group also recently announced plans for a modern, two-storey, 120m² extension and terrace on top of the existing building to create a new area for conferences and weddings, a bar, a new cafe, a spa and events space.
“The plans show not only our commitment to this fantastic building but to making the hotel one of the city’s leading and most stylish venues,” said Atul Malhotra, director of The Malhotra Group.
Day delegate rates at Grey Street Hotel start from £25 per person and include room hire, a two-course lunch or buffet, two servings of tea and coffee, mineral water and the hire of equipment, such as LCD projectors, the PA system and flipcharts.
