NH Hotel Group unveils 'high tech made easy' for meetings and events segment

New product includes revolutionary 3D holographic technology and telepresence systems

NH Hotel Group, Europe’s third-ranked business hotel chain, has unveiled its new service, ‘High Tech Made Easy’, designed to provide its customers with cutting-edge technology for high-impact, high-performance meetings and events. Solutions include telepresence systems which combine the best in video conferencing with interactive collaboration capabilities and 3D holographic projection technology which is available on a permanent basis in a hotel for the first time, marking a world first for the hotel group.

Rufino Pérez Fernández, Chief Commercial Officer at NH Hotel Group, comments: “The new ‘High Tech Made Easy’ service brings together the latest technology in video conferencing and collaboration systems to help our customers make their meetings and events more efficient and productive, while enhancing their experience and enabling participants to be present at events in real time, even if they cannot be there in person, thereby eliminating travel costs and helping to reduce associated expenses.”

More specifically, ‘High Tech Made Easy’, includes the next generation ‘SMART Room System™ for Microsoft® and Lync® online’ video conferencing system, designed to guarantee high performance meetings and more personal and efficient conferences. NH Hotel Group is the first, and currently only, company in the hotel sector to add this technology to its offering.

Consequently, NH’s meeting rooms are now equipped with the latest video conferencing and interactive collaboration systems which can support as many as 250 virtual attendees in one video call. These remote attendees can participate using their personal handheld devices and interact with both the content being used and the in situ team. This system is due to launch at the Group’s main strategic international destinations in the near future. It is already operational at Madrid’s NH Collection Eurobuilding, the Group’s first hotel to introduce this trailblazing technology solution.

‘High Tech Made Easy’ also incorporates 3D holographic technology, which NH Hotel Group has permanently installed in a hotel for the first time. This technology makes it possible to be truly present at an event or celebration even when physical attendance is not possible. Thanks to three-dimensional holograms, customers can tap their creativity and make high impact presentations.

NH Hotel Group is in the process of pilot testing its holographic telepresence technology in two cities: an initial version of the solution is currently available at NH Collection Eurobuilding in Madrid and the nhow in Berlin. This move makes NH Hotel Group the first hotel chain in the world to implement this revolutionary hotel system, which enables impressive holographic presentations and live telepresence solutions by connecting two or more hotel events.

Meetings and events account for around 25% of the group's revenue and play a very important role in NH Hotel Group consolidation. This new service adds innovative and sector-pioneering technology solutions to the Group’s recently-launched offer for the segment, ‘NH Meetings: inspire. create. enjoy’, which has been standardised across all its properties around the world. Key elements include the Ambassador Service, Specialised Advisory Service, Customised Professional Response, Eco-Friendly Meetings, Free and Easy Wi-Fi, Tempting Breaks (unique and healthy gastronomic offering) and now High Tech Made Easy. It operates under the philosophy that anything is possible, an approach which NH has dubbed ‘Always Yes!’ The idea is that the customer imagines the meeting or event and NH Hotel Group makes it happen, with professional support and on-the-ground assistance throughout the process to deliver unique events, executed with passion, and memorable experiences.
