PPHE Hotel Group floods the streets with pink for Breast Cancer Care

This week PPHE Hotel Group, owner, operator and franchisor of primarily full service upscale and lifestyle hotels including Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts, challenged its hotels and regional office teams to a relay race between its five London hotels, in a big effort to fundraise for Breast Cancer Care. During a busy development period, PPHE Hotel Group took time out to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Care as part of October’s Breast Cancer awareness month.

Starting at Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts’ iconic 1,019 roomed, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London, runners embarked on a four leg, relay-style run in fluorescent pink running tops as part of breast cancer awareness month.  Each leg, run by a different team member, finished at checkpoints managed by hotel and head office volunteers at each of the hotels.

From Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London runners went to Park Plaza Riverbank London, then on to Park Plaza Victoria London passing Big Ben, The London Eye and MI6 along the way. The next leg, being the longest at four miles passed through Hyde Park and on to Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes London. The runners then battled to the finish line at Park Plaza County Hall London where final celebrations took place and runners warmed up.  It was very close between first, second and third place but the Park Plaza Victoria London team was crowned winner finishing in 68 minutes and 28 seconds.

PPHE Hotel Group’s German, Hungarian and Dutch teams have also been raising awareness and funds for Pink Ribbon Deutschland and Pink Ribbon Netherlands. Activities have included creating and selling awareness t-shirts, selling pink themed cocktails and mocktails with all proceeds going to the charity.
