One of the world’s greatest chefs Massimo Bottura is welcomed to London to cook his signature dishes as he launches his new book Never Trust a Skinny Italian ChefMonday 10th November 2014 sees the Connaught in Mayfair, known for its gastronomic heritage, welcome Michelin Star Chef Massimo Bottura to cook in London for the first time, as he celebrates the launch of his new book Never Trust a Skinny Italian Chef, published by Phaidon. Michelin Star Chef Hélène Darroze has opened her kitchens and restaurant at the Connaught for Bottura and his team to create an eight-course menu comprising of his favourite historical dishes from Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy - twice ranked 3rd at the “World's 50 Best Restaurants” awards.
The eight-course menu has been carefully devised by Bottura to feature some his most recognised dishes including the colourfully named: “The crunchy part of the lasagna”, “Beautiful Psychedelic spin-painted veal, not flame grilled" and “Oops I dropped the lemon tart”.
Massimo Bottura comments: "The Connaught has come to feel like my home in London and I could not be more delighted to be cooking there in November. The service is unparalleled for me and the hotel represents a serene meeting point of heritage and modernity. I am honoured that Hélène Darroze has been so generous to open her kitchens and distinguished restaurant to welcome me to London.”

“Massimo Bottura at the Connaught” is available for dinner at Hélène Darroze at the Connaught on Monday 10th November only. Massimo Bottura will be in attendance together with his team of chefs from Osteria Francescana. The tasting menu is priced at £250 per person and includes a welcome glass of Krug champagne, a signed copy of Never Trust a Skinny Italian Chef along with balsamic vinegar and olive oil samples from Bottura’s personal selection. Guests will also be able to choose a wine pairing option at the dinner for £95.
