Gary Neville and Hotel Football pledge to support Trafford job seekers

Ex-England and Manchester United footballer, Gary Neville, has committed to signing the Trafford Pledge on 24th October on behalf of the Hotel Football team. This signing demonstrates the team’s commitment to providing work experience placements, apprenticeships and full time jobs to young people from Trafford and the surrounding areas.

Former Manchester United teammates Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt will open the unique, Hotel Football on the 8th December – a venture which will bring up to 200 jobs to the Manchester area.

Supporting the local economy and creating jobs for young people in the hospitality industry is something Hotel Football is passionate about. The team already has close ties with Trafford College, committing to recruit three student apprentices and works closely with Springboard, the industry charity which supports young people in hospitality and catering.

Feeding a love of football, the 133 bed four star hotel and conference facility will capture that authentic football culture, with hints to the game running throughout the décor, food and service.

Located on Sir Matt Busby Way, right next to Old Trafford stadium, it will be the first Hotel Football in the world and will generate a range of jobs for the local community, including front of house, housekeeping, conference and event staff, as well as bar tenders, serving and kitchen staff.

The hotel will boast a number of unique features and event spaces – including a rooftop pitch, as well as Café Football Manchester - making it the go-to destination for fans, families, foodies, business users and tourists. It will offer the ultimate match day experience too, with bespoke hospitality packages and will be home to The Old Trafford Supporters Club.

Talking about the new hotel, Ryan Giggs said: “Gary and I have spent so much of our lives playing at Old Trafford and appreciate everyone who supported us there over the years.

“To make sure the hotel appeals to everyone, not just football fans, we are working with some of the most talented people in the industry to create something unique and inviting – with a focus on excellent customer service and nurturing young talent.”

Hotel Football’s general manager, Stewart Davies, added: “The team behind Hotel Football is extremely proud to be investing in the local area. We already have an extremely talented senior management team in place and are currently in the process of building our skilled team, who will help make a visit to the hotel an unforgettable experience.”
