Emmeline’s Lounge offered the perfect backdrop to host a sophisticated evening for a selection of VIP press and media, representatives from Splendid Hospitality Group, Hilton Worldwide, Conrad Hotels & Resorts and the team from Conrad London St. James. General Managers from luxury Conrad & Waldorf Astoria hotels around the globe were also in attendance to celebrate this special event. The evening was a fantastic success providing an exciting introduction to this incredible property.
Emmeline’s created the perfect space for networking and was lit up in an incredible array of colours especially for the evening. Live music in the form of a roaming saxophonist provided a relaxed and sophisticated ambiance. A sumptuous selection of delicious canapés were provided, showcasing the Modern British cuisine available at the hotel. On the menu were smoked salmon and lemon cheese macaroons, mini oxtail doughnuts with star anise and apricot and a selection of mouth-watering offerings from the talented chefs at the hotel. Free flowing champagne kept the conversation effortless and guests were able to catch up with old friends or meet new ones, relax and enjoy the evening, surrounded by the incredible artwork in Emmeline’s.
After a warm and inviting introduction from General Manager Chris Jung welcoming everyone to the property, John T.A. Vanderslice, Global Head, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, took to the floor. He emphasized his enthusiasm for London and his excitement at introducing the first Conrad property to the capital was infectious. Shiraz Boghani, Chairman of Splendid Hospitality Group then thanked the Conrad and Hilton teams, as well as the team at the hotel for their hard work on a re-brand which was successfully implemented in record time.
After some inspirational speeches, the evening continued, with delicious creative dessert canapés from the sensational pastry chefs. Guests left with a beautiful gift bag in hand, containing delicious goodies such as vanilla and blueberry macaroons from the hotel kitchens and handmade British fudge! Guests were also invited to return next summer and enjoy a complimentary picnic in the lush greenery of St. James’s Park, situated only minutes from the hotel. The whole evening was a celebration of the hard work and commitment which has gone into the opening and a successful launch of a property with an exciting and prosperous future.
