Les Sources de Caudalie opens 12 new rooms and a brand new Bar ‘Rouge’

Les Sources de Caudalie bedroom
Les Sources de Caudalie is a truly magical place to stay, and fresh changes once again bring a new reason to visit or re-visit.  Already 15 years after Les Sources de Caudalie opened in Bordeaux, the property opens 12 outstanding new suites this autumn, as well as a new Bar ‘Rouge’ asserting it more than ever as a hot travel destination in the Bordeaux wine country.

The 12 new rooms have been built in a style reminiscent of Cap Ferret oyster-fishermen’s huts on stilts, and are perfectly integrated in to the hotels unique environment.  Alice and Jerome Tourbier, owners of Sources de Caudalie have always had an uncompromising respect for the natural setting and location.  Forming a charming Village de Pecheurs (‘fisherman’s Village’) overlooking a small lake, these spacious rooms each have a large terrace.  The rooms are all named after villages on Cap Ferret:  James de Boy, Le Port de la Vigne, Le Canon, La Pointe… all evocative of the beaches and hamlets lining the perimeter of Arcachon Bay.

The new suites can house up to 4 people and each is uniquely decorated with flamboyant wallpaers and whitewashed wall panels giving a hut atmosphere, and combine collectors items and reproductions in a modern spirit. Contrast between materials and colours is the theme in the bathrooms, a true haven of relaxation.

Key to the new suites are magnficent views over the vines or lake, where guests can recline in large armchairs and enjoy the beautiful views.  The new pool and fitness room are also located in a magnificent greenhouse that can be opened to let the sun in on fine days.  Bathers are welcomed by a multiple of flower pots which also decorate the changing rooms.  This vegetation theme continues througout the Sources de Caudalie, mirroring the unique vineyard setting.  The restaurants will soon take advantage of this orientation too, as a kitchen garden is planted outside the Grand’Vigne gastronomic restaurant, and Michelin starred chef Nicolas Masse will use the freshest produce to prepare dishes and introduce guests to rare herbs and spices.

Inside, new developments are ‘de rigeur’ with a new food shop and wine bar. ‘Rouge’will open every day from 9am to midnight, offering guests the chance to order a platter of delicatessen meats, sample various Bordeaux wines, select Spanish preserves and leave with one or two jars to enjoy later!  Wines can be enjoyed, consumed on site or purchased to take away with sommeliers present to help advise on taste and budget.

Sources de Caudalie offers 40 rooms and 21 suites from €280 – €840.  The property offers La Grand’Vigne a Michelin starred restaurant with Chef Nicolas Masse, a country inn at La Table du Lavoir, as well as the Caudalie Vinotherapie spa.
