Fittingly named the ‘339th bedroom’, the city centre hotel has created the outdoor bedroom space with the help of Manchester landscape company PR England & Sons, Groundwork and planning consultancy Turley who were also involved with the design of the project.
Comprising of turf and plants, the hotel staff put the finishing touches to the 339th bedroom.
Paul Bayliss MBE, General Manager at Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa, said: “We saw how successful the festival was last year, so it’s been a mission of ours to think of creative ways we could get involved.
“We’re in a prime location, with thousands of visitors to the city passing through our doors each week – we’re extremely proud to showcase our outdoor bedroom and promote Manchester’s greener city initiative at the same time.”
The hotel is situated just three minutes’ walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station. It is the largest four-star hotel in Manchester and combines 338 beautiful bedrooms with state of the art conferencing, an indulgent urban spa and first class bar, conferencing and banqueting.
