InterContinental Fiji to host major golf stars

Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course 18th hole aerial view
Gold level sponsor, InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is thrilled to be hosting three time Major champion Nick Price, and Fiji national hero Vijay Singh for the upcoming PGA OneAsia Fiji International Tournament. Singh and Price are amongst an arm’s length list of golf excellence to vie for the tournament’s $1 million prize purse, to be played at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course in less than four weeks.

Working literally side by side Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course and InterContinental Fiji deliver a world-class golf retreat in paradise. Zimbabwean golf celebrity Nick Price will bring his prowess to the course which already includes Fiji born world champion Vijay Singh, and both players will be spending their downtime at the resort while off the greens.

In support of an earlier statement by PGA CEO Brian Thorbun, General Manager of InterContinental Fiji, Erik Stuebe says, “In addition to the immediate multi-million dollar boost to local economy the influx of visitors will bring, the tournament places Fiji on the world stage as an exceptional golf destination, which has long term benefits for Fiji’s tourism industry.”

“As the gold sponsor of Fiji International, the resort’s thrilled to see such a positive response to the event both locally and internationally,” Stuebe said. “Our championship golf course will provide a worthy challenge for even the most experienced of golfers and we’re looking forward to the tee off next month!”

Affectionately known as ‘The People’s Resort’ due to its ownership by FNPF, the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa opened its doors in June 2009 and quickly established itself as Fiji’s premier luxury beach resort. With captivating design, 271 rooms, world-class dining, a luxury spa, four pools, and state of the art conference facilities, authentic Fijian hospitality and experiences combine to create one of the most magnificent luxury retreats in the South Pacific.
