To celebrate Rudding Park, Harrogate has launched a Ride le Route package for amateur cyclists to experience the same luxurious bedrooms and leisure facilities as their heroes before challenging themselves to cycle part or all of Stage One of the Grand Depart.
The Ride le Route experience includes a luxury two night stay, cyclist’s goodie bag, Altura yellow jersey, bike check at Harrogate’s Specialized Concept Store, secure bike storage, a massage at The Spa and a screening of ‘The Tour, The Legend of the Race’ in Rudding Park’s private cinema.
A donation from every Ride le Route experience will be given to The National Cycling Charity, whose aim is for the UK to be a place where it’s easy and safe for people of all ages to cycle, whatever their ability, background or income.
Mark Cavendish, of Omega Pharma Quick-Step said “Loved my stay at Rudding Park. The staff are fantastic and the surroundings are beautiful.”
Peter Banks, Managing Director of Rudding Park said “It has been extremely exciting to host three teams for Stage 1 of the Tour de France. This involvement has given us the opportunity to offer a very similar experience to amateur cyclists whilst raising money for a worthy cause to encourage as many people as possible to get cycling, now and in the future.”
