The hotel will be opening an al fresco dining terrace so that guests can enjoy a Provencal style lunch or supper. The restaurant will be located on the top terrace in the infamous Feversham courtyard, which has real French flavour all year round, with the award winning Verbena Spa on one side and the stunning pool on the other.
General Manager, Charles Merchie, who dreamt up the idea explains: “The Feversham terrace is the place to be in the summer. This year we wanted to design a specific menu for the area, something that matched the surroundings, having lived near Provence for a short while whilst I was younger, I knew that these were exactly the type of dishes that we should serve. What’s more our award winning Verbena Spa places great emphasis on wellness and the Mediterranean inspired dishes will reflect this ethos perfectly.”
The menu will be served both from the main kitchen and the poolside grill with a passionate team of chefs on hand to cater for every desire. From grilled lobster, to deep filled salad bowls, to the catch of the day and a divinely rich ratatouille.
The picturesque region of Provence is near the Mediterranean Sea in South-East France and the cuisine resembles that of Italy, with an emphasis on sun-ripened vegetables, seafood, fresh herbs and a liberal helping of olive oil in most dishes, blending intense flavours with simple ingredients. While on the terrace enjoy the hotel’s Provencal style menu with a carafe of delicious wine or a glass of champagne.
The English weather may not match that of Provence, but it’s good to know that there is a place nestled in Yorkshire where traditional Provencal cuisine is served and the Mediterranean atmosphere awaits. This summer you don’t need to travel overseas to experience a day in Provence.
The 100 days in Provence experience will run from 31st May to 7th September 2014. Guests can also make full use of the Verbena Spa by booking a spa day or package to truly soak up the ambience and unwind.
Guests can enjoy two courses from around £20 per person.
