Sheraton Salobre pitches elite five-star football training breaks for new season

The football season may be reaching a climax across Europe but clubs will already have one eye on preparations for next season, and the Sheraton Salobre Golf Resort & Spa is offering the perfect destination for teams seeking a warm-weather training camp.

Providing the ideal combination of idyllic temperatures all-year round and extensive first-class training and sports facilities in a luxury environment, Sheraton Salobre is the ideal place to work on skills, fitness and tactics, both summer and winter.

The luxury resort’s football facilities include a FIFA-certified full size grass pitch, a multi-purpose court and a wide array of other benefits, and top Bundesliga side FC Augsburg is  among the teams to have already visited for a mid-season training camp since the five-star amenities were officially opened in January.

Work can continue away from the pitches with first-class meeting room facilities available to discuss tactics or analyse match footage, two fully-equipped gyms – one indoor and one outdoor – are on offer to help with strength and conditioning programmes while a luxury spa is on hand for low-impact training to aid any players not 100 per cent fit.

Sheraton Salobre can arrange friendly matches against local sides for clubs seeking some competitive action and a dedicated trip organiser can supervise organise all aspects of a warm-weather break and facilitate any requests.

The resort’s attention to detail even stretches to catering for specific dietary requirements, while other services on offer include towels, water and ice served at the football pitch, a comprehensive range of sports training equipment and transfers to the pitch.

Sheraton Salobre’s five-star facilities on and around the football pitch are mirrored by what’s available off it, with teams able to relax and unwind in a hotel that features 313 rooms, four restaurants, two stylish bars and seven outdoor pools.

Clubs can enjoy a variety of other sports including two 18 championship golf courses – the only 36-hole golf complex in the Canary Islands – cycling, hiking and Nordic walking to less strenuous activities including yoga and pilates. The resort also provides a free shuttle bus to take guests to the hotel's private beach point near the dunes of Maspalomas Beach.

Ideally situated in the south of the island, Sheraton Salobre Golf Resort & Spa is just 10 minutes from Maspalomas and 30-minutes from Gran Canaria International Airport (Las Palmas) and is easily accessed from airports across the UK, Ireland and the rest of Europe.
