W Taipei launches “5BEER” in Woobar

W Taipei has announced the launch of its first beer, 5BEER, served exclusively at Woobar, the hippest place to be in town, a chic and cozy lounge during the day and a stylish, scintillating club by night. Crafted by “North Taiwan Brewery” with the finest selections of barley, hops and yeast, 5BEER delivers a slight roasted aroma, distinctive flavor and dry finish.

“Tea infused cocktails, ginger and kumquat flavored Taipei Mojito. We have created many beverages in our bars that are unique and related to Taiwan,” shared W Taipei General Manager Cary Gray, “Taiwan is also famous for its beer and we have discovered a few breweries producing high quality ones. We had a lot of fun brainstorming and tasting with the team to explore the taste of Taipei and Woobar. We are pleased with the results of 5BEER crafted by North Taiwan Brewery and look forward to introducing this product to the friends and fans of Woobar at W Taipei.”

The pronunciation of 5 in Chinese is similar to “woo” and that’s the reason 5BEER in Woobar got its name. The vivid fuchsia color on the label design makes it stand out from the rest. What’s so unique about this beer is that it went through the process of Secondary Fermentation in bottle which is similar to how Champagne is done. Upon pouring the 5BEER into a pint glass, you can see the gorgeous brown with light beige thick foam on the top. It smells lightly of roasted malts with a hint of sweetness. The taste is very smooth, heavier and bitterer body than a regular beer with hint of citrus and a semi-dry finish. 5BEER contains a higher alcohol percentage of 6% than the usual 3-5%.

In celebration of the Labors Day on May 1, as well the launch of 5BEER, all guests can enjoy “Buy Five Get One Free” from May 1 to May 31.
