Qbic Hotel London City becomes one of London’s most cycle-friendly hotels

New bikes for guests, new East End cycle maps, and a new film celebrating London's cycling culture

Cycle fans seeking a bike-friendly bolthole in London should steer their handlebars towards Qbic Hotel London City.   The east end hotel has announced the next stage of its partnership with Bikeworks, by introducing complimentary Qbic bicycles and helmets for hotel guests, in-hotel bike facilities and specially created cycle routes around London.

To prove its love of the capital’s vibrant cycling scene, the hotel has also commissioned CycleEast, a film that explores the rising popularity of cycling in London’s East End. The film will be premiered at the hotel on 27th March and available to view on Cyclr.com.

On Your Bike
Riding on the resurgence of cycling in the East End (in Hackney alone, 15% of people now use bikes every day), Qbic is encouraging guests to explore the capital on two wheels.  The hotel now has range of Qbic branded bikes, which have been repurposed and recycled by Bikeworks, and are available for guests to borrow.   Helmets will also be available, and the hotel offers bike racks monitored by CCTV to make it one of the most ‘cycle-friendly’ hotels in London.

Qbic will also provide guests with a series of East London cycling maps, which have been specially designed for the hotel by Bikeworks.  These maps will delineate self-guided routes from the hotel along the Thames Path east towards the Thames Barrier, west towards the Olympic Park and right to the heart of Westminster.

The Bikeworks Partnership
Qbic is proud to partner with Bikeworks, a social enterprise which champions community cycling programmes such as employing disadvantaged Londoners, running all ability cycling sessions and schools cycling training, as well bicycle reuse and recycling workshops to actively change lives and offer positive experiences through cycling.

As part of the partnership, which has been in place since the hotel’s launch in November 2013, Qbic Hotel London City has been raising money for the charity through guest donations.  There are future plans to station a Bikeworks workshop within the hotel which will further showcase Qbic as one of the most cycle friendly hotels in London, and ensure it maintains up its reputation as a supporter of local community initiatives.
