Starwood Hotels & Resorts celebrate the opening of their customer contact center in India

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announces the opening of the Starwood India Customer Contact Center (CCC) in the city of Gurgaon. This will be Starwood’s 9th global Customer Contact Center and the 4th in Asia-Pacific.

Apart from India, Starwood Hotels & Resorts currently has eight award-winning Customer Contact Centers globally, four in North America, one in Europe and three in Asia Pacific including Guangzhou, Singapore and Tokyo. The Starwood India CCC will offer an enhanced level of service to Starwood’s fast growing customer base in the South Asia region.

“Starwood Hotels & Resorts continue to remain bullish on the long term growth opportunities in the region. Already our fourth largest market, India is second only to China in terms of our future global growth.  There is tremendous potential for us in both domestic and international travel,” said Patricia Neo, Senior Director, Customer Contact Centers, Asia Pacific for Starwood Hotels & Resorts. “Therefore, it is timely that we set up a Customer Contact Center in India not only to provide our hotels here with improved support but to better position Starwood to care for the needs of our customers and strengthen our relationships and loyalty.” added Neo.

Speaking on this development, Dilip Puri, Managing Director, India and Regional Vice President, South Asia, Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels and Resorts said, “We are extremely excited at the launch of the Customer Contact Center in India as it comes at a time of fast-paced growth in one of Starwood’s key markets and represents our commitment to fully support the development of the South Asia region. This ‘India for India’ contact center will enable us to better connect with customers in the region, appreciate unique customer preferences and behaviors and provide a level of service that will drive long term customer loyalty to Starwood brands.”

Starwood is looking at having this center operate 24x7 to support both India and global operational needs. The opening of this Customer Contact Center also presents an opportunity to provide the local talent varied job opportunities and training. Together with the opening of 6 Hotels, Starwood expects to create over 2,000 jobs in the region in 2011.

The Customer Contact Center initiative is a “super number” concept wherein customers can reach the CCC for reservations at any Starwood property around the globe through just one telephone number. The Super Number -1 800 258 2555 will ensure ease and convenience of doing business with Starwood.
