Investing in meeting success at Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC

Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC, one of Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG)’s Company Managed Hotels, has unveiled its innovative new-look meeting and events facilities following a £350,000 investment, positioning the hotel as the leading meeting and events venue for local and international business guests.

Based on guest feedback and trends in the meetings and events industry, the hotel has redesigned its 11 conference rooms, making them brighter, more vibrant and packed with new, cutting edge technology. Delegates can also enjoy break times with a different selection of games consoles, TVs, PCs and Macs available in the new ‘Hub’ area.  

Not only are the meeting rooms designed to inspire and motivate, the hotel has also launched an exciting new food and beverage philosophy developed specifically to support productivity, performance and energy levels. The innovative menus are nutritionally balanced to help delegates stay focused throughout the day.  

David Steel, Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC’s General Manager and The Midlands’ Cluster General Manager, said: “The meetings industry has changed dramatically over the last few years with both delegates and bookers expecting a certain level of service, quality and technology. With this in mind, we have made sure we exceed these expectations by investing in our conference service, from meeting rooms to games consoles and our revolutionary meetings menu.”  

The refurbishment comes as one of the first, pioneering steps towards the changing face of the local area around the Birmingham NEC, ahead of the arrival of the neighbouring integrated destination leisure complex.  

David continued: “It’s a very exciting time for us, especially with the new complex being so close by and the extension of the runway at Birmingham Airport, so we are continually aiming to improve our standards and stay one step ahead to ensure we are constantly meeting our guest needs.”
