On Sunday 16 February, global stars of film descended on Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel after the prestigious EE BAFTA Awards Ceremony for the exclusive EE BAFTA Dinner and After Party.
Executive Chef Nigel Boschetti had the highly pressured job of creating a memorable dining experience for nearly 2000 VIP’s and has spent months working closely with the BAFTA team to craft a menu that celebrated the very best of British produce, presented with a modern twist.
Here’s what the stars enjoyed at the EE BAFTAs 2014;
Smoked Loch Fyne salmon, Dorset crab and avocado salad, pink grapefruit, beetroot, horseradish crème fraiche
Fillet of Aberdeen Angus, braised short rib, red wine sauce, porcini and potato gratin, roast shallots, stem broccoli
Hotel Chocolat St Lucian milk chocolate mousse with a roasted mixed nut and cacao bean caramel and almond dacquoise
The dinner is held in the famous Great Room at Grosvenor House and immediately follows a grand red carpet entrance via the forecourt of the hotel, where the winners proudly clutch their BAFTA Awards. The Great Room is visually breathtaking, with every table dressed with one of five striking centerpieces, each representing the five Best Film Nominees.
Nigel Boschetti said, ‘We are accustomed to cooking for celebrities and VIPs here at Grosvenor House, but BAFTA night is of course very special. Creating the menu and having the tastings with the BAFTA team in the lead up to the night is fantastic and I love that I am able to really use great British produce and give the menu a real British feel – it perfectly complements the awards themselves.”
