The elaborate event featured torch lighting and tribal drummers, adding a traditional Fijian flare to the evening. Choreographed entertainment from the vibrant VOU dance group, talented Fire Dancers and the beautiful voices of the Batiri Village Choir left over 650 guests in awe as a kaleidoscope of fireworks lit up Natadola’s skies and 4,000 balloons descended in a cloud of purple and white at the stroke of midnight.
InterContinental Fiji’s guests were elated with the show and applauded the resort for their world class service and efforts in making the event an unforgettable one. Guest reviews on Trip Advisor stated that “entertainment was top class” and that it was a “fantastic success” with a “stunning venue”.
“We are delighted that our guests made special memories and celebrated the coming of 2014 with a flurry of excitement, dance and music,” said Mr. Scott Williams, the General Manager. “The resort has had a successful year with some of the highlights including winning Australasia’s Leading Golf Resort at the World Travel Awards and making the Gold List for Luxury Travel Magazine.”
“This could not have been possible without the support of our owners – the Fiji National Provident Fund, our great team of tourism stakeholders, our guests and our employees who love what they do,” stated Mr. Williams.
“We look forward to another great year in 2014 and as the People’s Resort, contributing back to the people of Fiji,” Mr. Williams added.
