New conference facilities will open at Evian Resort’s Hotel Royal when it reopens in July 2014 following extensive refurbishment works. The refurbishment will be completed over two phases, it encompasses all areas of the hotel including rooms, bathrooms, public areas and, of course, the prestigious conference area, famed for hosting the 29th G8 Summit in 2003.

The 12 room conference area located on the ground floor and overlooking Lake Geneva, will be completely refurbished for the first time since it hosted the G8 Summit. The new conference rooms and areas will open out onto a stunning terrace with panoramic views over Lake Geneva.

Following the refurbishment, the facilities, which can host between 20 and 300 delegates for meetings, seminars and conferences, will be of the highest standard, representing the true splendour of the property and its location. When the hotel reopens in July, 75 rooms will have been refurbished, a further 75 will be completed by July 2015. La Grange au Lac, the awe-inspiring wooden auditorium located in the woodlands of Evian Resort, which can host 1200 people, will also benefit from significant improvement work.

French interior designer, François Champsaur, known for his work on some of the country’s most prestigious hotels and ability to marry sophistication and comfort, will be responsible for the interior design of the Hotel Royal. Champsaur will work closely with architect, François Châtillon who has designed and implemented many projects in various sectors, ranging from social housing to historical monuments restoration.

Phase two of the Hotel Royal’s refurbishment will takes place between October 2014 and June 2015, the hotel will be closed again during this time.
