Best Western Cresta Court celebrates 40th anniversary year

General manager Paul Hindley and staff from the Best Western Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham, south Manchester, kicked-off celebrations of the Hotel’s 40th anninversary year last week by sharing champagne and cake with staff and guests to mark the December 3, 1973 opening date.

A year long programme of celebration events is taking shape with plans including a special gallery of iconic photographs from the last forty years, and a charity and community fun day to be held at Easter.

‘The last twelve months has seen huge changes at the Hotel with our refurbishment programme near completion and receiving a great response from guests’ says general manager Paul Hindley

‘But the last forty years has seen even more dramatic changes and not just at the Hotel, but also in the wider south Manchester area and the hotel and travel industries as a whole.  It is some of these developments, plus our contribution to the local hotel business scene and some of our community’s everyday unsung heros that we want to celebrate in our anniversary year.  So watch this space!’

Following new ownership and investment in 2013, the Hotel’s refurbishment project has seen the upgrade of its 140 bedrooms finished to a high standard using a strong blend of classical and contemporary design.  A re-design of the reception area and Townfields lounge-bar now offers a more open plan concept, and this will shortly be followed by upgrades in the 11 conference and three event rooms, corridors, hotel exterior and the Dettoris restaurant.
