Barcelo Hotels and Resorts open Barcelo Milan

Barceló Hotels & Resorts opened Barceló Milan, Italy last week in the heart of the city’s emerging business district.    With 280 guestrooms, one restaurant, six state-of-the-art meeting rooms, a full-service spa and a unique, contemporary interior design, the hotel offers a truly modern guest experience.

The opening of Barceló Milan further cements Barceló Hotels & Resorts expansion in Italy and the groups’ planned growth strategy aimed at both business and leisure travelers. To date the Group manages three properties in Rome (Barceló Aran Mantegna, Barceló Aran Park & Barceló Aran Blu) and two resorts in Calabria, south Italy (Barceló Floriana Village & Barceló Simeri Village) bringing the total portfolio in Italy to six with a 1,695 hotel rooms.

Barceló Milan is a tribute to contemporary design.  Conceived by Simone Micheli, one of Italy’s leading architects and interior designers, it was built using only the highest quality materials and with an aim to create versatile spaces for business and leisure guests.  The impressive tower and glass façade is inspired by nature’s forms – the sea, mountains and hills - while inside, guests can enjoy the eclectic features that are based on ergonomics; state-of-the-art technology; the use of natural materials and a range of vibrant colours used to create a playful environment.  The bright bubble shapes, trees in the restaurants and creative lighting give the hotel a futuristic feel.

For business travelers and corporates Barceló Milan has six large meeting rooms with capacity for up to 400 people and a new business experience which allows guests to choose from a selection of sounds, scents and colours to personalise their meeting environment.  There is also one à la carte restaurant, serving classic Italian food and international specialties and for relaxation, the modern spa has a large heated, indoor pool and stunning, panoramic views of the city.

Barceló Milan’s excellent position on Via Stephenson 55 is right in the heart of Milan’s emerging business district where Expo 2015 will be hosted between 1 May and 31 October 2015. The hotel is also just two minutes from the motorway that links the city centre to the airports of Milan Linate and Milan Malpensa which are regularly serviced by British Airways, easyJet, Alitalia and Ryanair from the UK.
