Cho Wong, Managing Director of Supranational Hotels, outlines the company’s global vision during World Travel Market as they approach their 40th anniversary in 2014 as one of the world’s leading providers of hotel distribution technology. 

For this their 40th year, Supranational Hotels is embarking on a strategic growth path that includes new hotels in emerging markets and leading technological advances within the GDS network.

Key developments for Supranational Hotels announced at World Travel Market 2013:
• Partnership with Mangalis Management Group to bring 15 new hotels across the new SEEN, SEEN+, NOOM and NOOM RÉSIDENCES hotel brands in 13 countries within Africa in a €315m development.
• Piloting a new project to translate hotel data on the Pegasus Hotel Content Database into Chinese to capitalise on this growing market since the UK visa application process for Chinese visitors is becoming easier. Test phase is underway with the translation of two hotels before rolling out across the portfolio.
• Test partner to distribute hotels to the 5th recognised GDS provider, the TravelSky network in China.
• Strategic alliance with SmartOtels to strengthen corporate business development opportunities to its 800+ members worldwide.
