Holiday Inn London – Camden Lock turns 10 with a £1 million makeover

Holiday Inn London - Camden Lock owned by the 4C Hotel Group has treated itself to a £1 million revamp in honour of its milestone anniversary, including creating a new ‘open lobby’. This transformation has involved overhauling the traditional hotel lobby format by combining the front desk lobby, restaurant, bar, lounge area and business centre into a sleek open space.

“This concept was trialled in the US and I think it captures the coffee-house-style environment much favoured by people on-the-go these days,” explains Tasneem Buitendijk, General Manager.  “Our guests can eat, relax, work or have fun all in one slightly quirky but relaxing space.

We commissioned many local artists to create our Camden inspired artwork and my personal favourite is the large mural by Tobias Hall called ‘feel alright.’  It is an ode to Camden’s favourite indie musicians who have lived and worked in and around Camden.

The hotel has chosen to support the Amy Winehouse Foundation throughout its birthday year.  The charity aims to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people, an issue which touches the heart of the community.
