Special champagne masterclass dinner to be hosted at The Wood Norton

The luxurious Wood Norton will be hosting a very special champagne masterclass and dinner later this month in partnership with The Champagne house of DUVAL-LEROY, ranked one of the finest wine producers in France.

Champagne DUVAL-LEROY was founded in 1859 when two Champagne families came together to share their interests for the love of champagne. Since then the house has been dedicated to producing the highest quality chardonnay grapes.

Craig Webb the general manager at the Wood Norton said: “We are very excited to be hosting an event with such a prestigious wine producer. DUVAL-LEROY is ranked in the top 15 best champagne houses, and the night we have planned will really showcase everything this fabulous champagne has to offer. Here at the Wood Norton our hotel is steeped in French history, so it seems only fitting that one of the leading wine producers in France should be spending the weekend with us.”

Indeed, the recent history of Wood Norton began in 1872, when the exiled French Duc d’Aumale purchased the estate as a hunting lodge. Following a £4m refurbishment at the end of last year, the building has now become a beautifully crafted hotel with original 19th century, French decorative interiors.

Craig added: “Guests will get to taste and experience the very best of France. With fine wine and fine dining. What’s more, during the evening the Champagne DUVAL-LEROY team will be providing a detailed masterclass talking about each glass and everything’s that involved.”

The event takes place on the 20th September at 7.00pm, and costs just £75 per person, which includes a three course meal and of course, champagne. There will also be live music throughout the evening, from up and coming jazz band ‘Joe Montague.’

Craig commented: “Booking is essential, and guests are urged to book early as places are limited. Over night accommodation is also available, starting from £75 inc VAT per room and includes breakfast.” This special champagne evening marks the start of some great events planned for the Autumn at the hotel. October sees Game as its ingredient of the month where the chefs will create the very best wild and free range game for you to enjoy. Also in October as part of the mini BITE weekend, the hotel is hosting the Celebration of Venison and Wild fruits event, which showcases the perfect marriage between the two.
