Newly appointed Executive Chef serves up innovative super food menu at Rockwell Bar & Room

Recently appointed executive chef, Suraj Lokhande, has cooked up a new menu for Rockwell Bar & Room that focuses on super food ingredients.  Overlooking Trafalgar Square and Nelson’s Column, diners can choose from modern dishes that are rich in nutrients and antioxidants. .

Rockwell Bar & Room features sleek and elegant design that has been reflected in the two signature dishes: the Rockwell Super Salad, made up of beetroot, cherry tomatoes, butternut squash, broccoli, quinoa, pomegranate, sunflower seeds and dressed with olive oil; and posh fish and chips with poached or roasted cod, oven roasted sweet potato chips, mange tout and Greek yoghurt tartar sauce.

Suraj Lokhande, executive chef, The Trafalgar Hotel, said, “I was driven to create a menu that reflects people’s enthusiasm around wanting and practicing a healthy lifestyle. Diners are conscious about the ingredients they put in their bodies and the super food menu gives them peace of mind whilst providing flavoursome dishes, like the posh fish and chips dish that allows diners to enjoy a British classic without the guilt.”

The super food menu also includes falafel spinach burger served with tomato, avocado, little gem lettuce in a malted bap; grilled chicken with pink grapefruit, watercress, roasted walnut with mustard dressing; smoked salmon on rye and sunflower bread with sakura cress; and poached baby pear, dry fruit biscotti served with salted caramel sauce.  Available to order daily from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., dishes start from £6.50.

With over 13 years’ experience, Suraj Lokhande has recently been appointed executive chef at The Trafalgar Hotel having worked his way up from sous chef when he first joined the property in 2011.  Lokhande has gained his knowledge and skills through working with The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, before moving to London and working with Grosvenor House and Britannia hotels.
