Macdonald’s Station Concierge service

. . . but Macdonald’s Station Concierge service in Manchester is a benefit!

What do you do if you arrive at a railway station and your hotel is really too close for a taxi ride but your luggage is too bulky to be carried easily?
Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa has just created a solution to that problem. When making a booking, guests can ask for the ‘Station Concierge’ service.

As Paul Bayliss, the GM, explains it: ‘Guests may not realise just how close the hotel is to Manchester Piccadilly Station. There is absolutely no need to jump in a taxi. But when you’re laden with heavy luggage, even a two-minute walk can be a struggle – especially if you’re new to the city. The best way for us to welcome them is to meet them on the station platform across the road and relieve them of the stress of getting their luggage safely to our hotel’.

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts was, astonishingly, only established by Donald Macdonald and colleagues in Aberdeenshire as recently as 1990 but can now claim to be the UK’s largest privately-owned hotel group. It operates over 45 hotels and ten resorts in the UK and Spain, totalling more than 4,500 guestrooms. It has a workforce of 4,000.
