"We feel that while various websites might offer advantageous rates, it is far better for the guest to be completely confident that he or she can deal directly with Centara, be assured that the best rates are being offered via the official website, and be certain to receive exactly what is promised under the terms of booking," says Chris Bailey, senior vice president for sales and marketing at Centara Hotels & Resorts.
"By providing this service, we protect our guests against the possibility of inappropriate offers by unauthorised parties."
The programme stipulates that to be eligible for the BRG terms, the competing rate on another website must be for the same hotel or resort, at identical dates, same room category, same number of guests, in the same currency, and must be available for booking on the internet and available to the general public.
If such a rate is discovered, evidence in the form of a full website address or screenshots must be submitted along with an online claims form.
The application for rate adjustment and further 10 percent discount must be made within 24 hours of booking and at least before arrival at the hotel. Claims are processed within 72 hours during normal business hours, Monday to Friday.
