In a UK poll for influential industry magazine Meetings & Incentive Travel (M&IT), Glasgow was voted number one ahead of strong competition from London & Partners, Liverpool Convention Bureau, NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, Staffordshire Stoke-on-Trent Convention Bureau and Marketing Edinburgh.
The record-breaking accolade underpins Glasgow’s position as the first UK city ever to clinch the top prize 10 years in a row.
Clients and partners industry-wide have offered their congratulations and well wishes to GCMB, which has worked with city partners to deliver £1.2 billion worth of conference business to Glasgow during the past decade.

The highly prestigious annual M&IT poll collects votes from more than 4,500 meetings industry professionals through an independent audit with more than 13,000 votes cast across its award categories.

Major conferences won by Glasgow in the current financial year (2015/16) include:
• The Meeting of the European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology 2019, which will bring 4,500 delegates to the city and generate more than £7 million for the local economy.
• The International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Artic Engineering 2019, which will bring 1,000 delegates and inject more than £2 million into the local economy.
• The British Association of Dermatologists 2022, which will see 1,000 delegates from across the UK travel to Glasgow and generate more than £1.5 million for the city’s economy.
