Glasgow Bureau Chief announced as keynote speaker at leading industry event

Glasgow City Marketing Bureau’s Chief Executive Scott Taylor has been announced as the keynote speaker at Sheffield Hallam University’s Destination Marketing Symposium next month.  
The Bureau Chief will be the first presenter of a number of attending top speakers with his speech entitled: People Make Glasgow: best practice in urban destination marketing.
The keynote will offer a comprehensive snapshot into the success of the award-winning PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW brand which received global plaudits during the best ever Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, last summer.


Mr Taylor will also offer an insight into how Glasgow City Marketing Bureau has become a leading destination marketing organisation implementing a city-wide brand and positioning Glasgow on a world stage for major events and conventions.  

The event – which has more than 100 registrations of students, academics, practitioners and industry thought leaders – has an overarching theme of: Best practice and paradigms in a fast changing world.  

Scott Taylor, Chief Executive at Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, said: “It is a pleasure to accept the invitation to deliver the keynote speech at Sheffield Hallam University’s Destination Marketing Symposium next month.  

“As the official destination marketing organisation of Glasgow and as the custodian of the PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW brand, we have devised a tailored process around winning and delivering major events and conferences on an industrial scale.  

“I’m looking forward to getting under the skin of best practice in urban destination marketing during my keynote address and welcome discussion around this continually evolving topic.”

The Destination Marketing Symposium will take place on March 18, 2015 at Sheffield Hallam University, Penine Lecture Theatre, Howard Street, City Campus. Scott Taylor will deliver his keynote speech at 2:15pm.
