ATP Event Experts experiences surge in Glasgow Commonwealth Games enquiries with less than four months to go

Track and field revealed as still the most popular events

With less than four months to go until the start of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, corporate travel and events business ATP Event Experts has reported exceptional demand from people keen to experience this unique sporting event.

In fact, 90 per cent of ATP Event Experts' total package allocation as the official Glasgow 2014 Spectator Package Provider has now sold out; numbers that place the business as one of the leading sports experience companies in Europe. The events receiving the most amount of interest so far include perennial Commonwealth Games’ favourites, track and field.

In addition, ATP Events Experts has been busy with requests from clients keen to experience some of Scotland's most famous exports such as whisky tastings and rugby clinics.

Whilst Glasgow city centre is the most popular accommodation location, rooms are also being offered in Stirling and Edinburgh to meet demand. ATP Event Experts is also in negotiations to secure further availability in order to meet demand.

ATP Event Experts manages and sells a range of spectator packages for the Games, providing a one-stop shop for visitors with combined deals for tickets, accommodation and travel.

During the Games, ATP Event Experts will also operate a help desk to manage requests relating to accommodation and travel, in addition to facilitating the extensive accommodation and travel-related needs of the Games Family. The exceptional planning required has led ATP Event Experts to assign a dedicated team of 20 professionals to Glasgow to carry out a host of site inspections on hotels, restaurants and event venues, and to plan and deliver the entire event operations.

Neil Pace, head of UK event operations at ATP Event Experts commented: “Scotland, and Glasgow in particular, is packed with history and heritage, and we’re finding that most corporate visitors are keen to immerse themselves in famous traditions such as whiskey tasting and rugby. In less than four months Scotland will welcome top athletes from around the world to compete in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and we’re absolutely thrilled to be part of pulling together a truly momentous event.”
