Pandaw first river expedition operator to offer Laos itinerary on new ship the Laos Pandaw

Luxury river expedition company Pandaw has announced its new 10-night Laos Mekong sailing on its new ship the Laos Pandaw. The itinerary will commence in November 2015 offering Pandaw guests the chance to travel deep into the Laos mountains, through remote landscapes and gorges as well as visiting local tribal villages and Buddhist temples along the Mekong River. Pandaw is the first river expedition operator to cross all of Laos.

The Laos Pandaw  will be the fourteenth ship to join the fleet, with ten staterooms (including one Owner’s Suite) for a truly bespoke five-star experience.  The Laos Pandaw, sister ship to the Kha Byoo built in 2014, will be custom built in Laos, with a shallow draught and additional engine power for navigating the Upper Mekong.

Hugh Clayson, Pandaw’s commercial director, commented: “As the fourteenth ship to join the Pandaw fleet, Laos Pandaw and the 10-night Laos Mekong itinerary will appeal to the growing trend for ‘expedition’ holidays whilst maintaining that luxury experience. This combination of brand new ship and unique route provides our trade partners with an exciting product that will appeal to both customers returning to Southeast Asia and to first-time visitors looking to explore this beautiful undiscovered region.”

The Laos Mekong is a three-country expedition traversing Laos from Thailand to Burma and the once-notorious Golden Triangle. Guests will spend two nights at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Luang Prabang and explore its Buddhist temples, Royal Palace and atmospheric night market. They’ll observe the morning alms attended by a thousand monks before travelling inland to discover tribal villages, swim in jungle pools and cross rapids and gorges deep in the remote Laos jungle.

Pandaw guests will enjoy a ‘yacht-like’ feel onboard the 10-suite Laos Pandaw as well as five-star luxury service and a crew to passenger ratio of 2:1. All excursions are included in this unique itinerary.

Guests booking before 5 January 2015 can benefit from a 10 per cent early booking saving.
