More dedicated training, more ‘Seminars at Sea’ and more supportWith two of the cruise line’s newest ships set to debut in the coming months, Royal Caribbean International is increasing its trade support with a series of new initiatives to get agents up to speed with the latest technology and to provide the selling tools they need to convert into sales. The new product onboard Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas is unprecedented and agents have a lot to look forward to in the months ahead.
In recent weeks a new ‘Quantum Hub’ was unveiled on the cruise line’s award-winning e-learning programme Cruising for Excellence (CFE) online allowing agents to brush up dedicated modules including Dynamic Dining, Entertainment, Accommodation and a general overview of the ship - each takes less than 10 minutes to complete. From September, agents will also be able to access the learning experience for the first time via iPads and iPhones, thanks to a new HTML5 version.
The Royal Caribbean sales team will also be taking part in more than 35 roadshows on behalf of high street consortiums TUI and Thomas Cook to support selling and encourage agents to get excited about the new technologies, innovative entertainment and dynamic dining available onboard the newest ships. The dedicated series of Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas road shows is expected to hit more than 1,000 agents across the country between now and October.
The sales team will also be armed with exclusive hard copies of the dedicated Anthem of the Seas travel guide to demonstrate to agents all the incredible things to do onboard Anthem of the Seas, including new Dynamic Dining restaurants, entertainment, plus the top ten must do’s and activities.
Select groups of top selling agents will also get to experience one of three ship based ‘Seminars at Sea’ planned for autumn 2014. More than 75 agents will be taken onboard Allure and Majesty of the Seas in November giving them an immersive first-hand experience of the incredible features and activities available to guests.
Ben Bouldin, director of sales, UK and Ireland, Royal Caribbean International, commented: "With one of our most exciting seasons to date fast approaching our commitment to our loyal trade partners has never been stronger. We've had a number of exciting announcements in recent months with regards to the new dining options and technology onboard our Quantum-class ships and every step of the way we've made sure to have incentives and activities for the trade to help them get caught up in the exciting developments that guests will ultimately be able to experience onboard. Whether it's our sales team blitzing agents across the country with video glasses to take them on a technological tour of our newest ships or ‘Seminars at Sea’ designed to give front line staff a first-hand look at life onboard, agents continue to be one of our most important audiences when it comes to communicating all of the innovative aspects of our ever improving holiday offering. With loads more agent-only incentives, activities and offerings in the pipeline we're confident that agents will continue to embrace and get behind the brand with their usual enthusiasm."
Anthem of the Seas is one of two Royal Caribbean International Quantum-class ships. Due for delivery in Spring 2015 the ship, along with Quantum of the Seas, will be a dramatic leap forward for the cruise industry and introduce more game-changing “firsts at sea” such as a RipCord by iFLY and the North Star, an engineering marvel featuring a jewel like capsule that extends 300 feet above the ocean and over the sides of the ship to deliver 360-degree views for guests. The ship will sail its inaugural season from the port of Southampton from Spring 2015.
