Somerset House has released a limited number of dates for corporate hire of the ice rink during its SKATE at Somerset House season this Christmas. From Thursday 17 November SKATE at Somerset House, one of the capital’s favourite Christmas attractions, invites event organisers to hire the ice rink exclusively for up to 200 people, with daytime and evening availability for Christmas parties, drinks receptions, lunches and dinners before tickets go on sale to the general public in September. Pre-opening options are available from 10 November.
Set in the stately surroundings of the neo-classical courtyard at Somerset House, packages include the use of some of the venue’s most striking spaces including the Portico Rooms, The Navy Board Rooms and Seamen’s Hall, where guests will have the opportunity to enjoy food overlooking the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court before taking to the ice.
This festive season, the stunning East Wing will also be available for guests to enjoy. The space – which accommodates up to 300 for a drinks reception – overlooks the ice rink on the courtyard level and provides the ideal backdrop for an event.
Another option is to treat guests to a private viewing of a Christmas classic of their choice in the Screening Room, before taking in the Fortnum & Mason Christmas Arcade.
Jenny Smith, Head of Corporate Events at Somerset House says: “SKATE at Somerset House is one of London’s most popular festive outings and we are thrilled to be able to offer corporates the chance to join in the fun with exclusive access to the ice rink”. Dates for corporate hire of the ice rink are subject to availability and each package is quoted on a bespoke basis.
