Brussels, the platform for new content creation and events

DIGICARE Conference brussels
In light of the recent events in Brussels, AIM Group International decided not to postpone the DIGICARE Conference as a sign of solidarity with the city. Held this past week, DIGICARE is a new type of conference on European Digital Healthcare created by AIM Consulting - the newborn consulting arm of AIM Group International – in partnership with vanGoGh - the Group's multichannel communication agency.

A contingency plan was defined to assure the safety of all the speakers and delegates in attendance. Stefano Remiddi, AIM Consulting Business Director explains how the AIM Group International team reacted: "We did not want to cancel the meeting, we worked hard to prepare DIGICARE, creating the content of a new educational platform and putting all the stakeholders together. Digital Healthcare in Europe is developing quickly, the consumer is empowered by the digital environment and there is space for improvement to enhance this multichannel communication.

"After the attacks in Brussels we needed to decide whether or not to postpone or cancel the meeting but we thought today, more than ever, we need to continue to meet face to face, to create direct interaction and discussion as these are the pillars of our future development. We as conference organisers have to protect the business value of meetings especially in difficult times."


“We monitored the situation continuously after the airport attacks”, says Jan Van den Broeck, the Manager of the AIM Group International Brussels office, “and we continued to communicate with the speakers and the participants providing them with nonstop updates. We adapted an informative approach, publishing informative bulletins on the website, we made direct calls to speakers and participants as well as opened a direct line of communication with airline companies and the city of Brussels. Speakers from many European countries and from the European Commission  were to attend the DIGICARE conference and all showed up. Everybody was proud to be in Brussels despite some flight delays and longer procedures at the airport.”  

“Brussels is alive, a welcoming city now more than ever”, says Patrizia Buongiorno, Vice President of AIM Group International, “the airport staff at arrivals was especially kind, showing travellers that the city, despite the terrible situation, was ready to get back to normal. Brussels is the city where Europe meets.”  

DIGICARE was a great success in terms of content, new topics were discussed and attendance of the major companies involved in the new healthcare digital challenge. From Accenture Consulting to  Elsevier Online Publishing Solutions, Aptus Health, Takeda Italia and Medi-Pragma as well the DG Connect for the European Commission and the UEMS all were there.  

We are ready for the second edition, a future face to face meeting to talk about digital environments and evolution. DIGICARE: where digital meets face to face!
