VisitScotland Business Events announces the Country’s Young Legends

Last night, VisitScotland Business Events announced its six Young Legends of the Year at an awards ceremony at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow. The inaugural event welcomed 100 guests including representatives from the country’s top universities, convention bureaux and tourism agencies.

The “Young Legends’ Awards” were created to celebrate the country’s leading reputation for invention and innovation by recognising the leading-edge work of special young people aged 18-26 who live and work in Scotland today.  

The six winners were chosen for their work and innovative ideas from some of Scotland’s key sectors including life sciences, creative, technology, energy and education. They will all see their work championed internationally through the Legends campaign.  

The Young Legend Award winners are:
Life Science Award

Hannah Findlay, Process Development Technician at TC BioPharm

Creative Award
Michael Harkins, Founder and CEO of Turtle Pack

Technology Award
Selby Cary, Co-Founder and CEO of Casta Spes Technologies

Education Award
Hannah Costello, Postgraduate Student at The University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Cardiovascular Science

Energy Award
Mark Goudie, Electrical and Mechanical Engineer at Atkins

The “Young Legends Awards” are organised by VisitScotland Business Events and combine the aims of both its two-year “Legends” campaign and the Year of Young People in Scotland in 2018.
