Shortlist announced for the People 1st Apprenticeship Awards

Now in its third year, the Apprenticeship Awards organised by People 1st, recognise outstanding apprentices and celebrate the contribution of employers, providers and mentors in promoting and delivering apprenticeships.

Shortlisted apprentices from the travel industry include Olivia Barnsley, Samantha Reed and Thomas Newby from Tui UK & Ireland, Bethany Trueman from Cooperative Travel and Harri Mai Hodge from Thomas Cook.  

Simon Tarr, People 1st Managing Director, said he was impressed with the volume and calibre of nominations for this year’s awards. He commented: “It’s fantastic to read so many inspiring stories and how beneficial apprenticeship programmes really are for both apprentice and employers. These awards offer us an opportunity to celebrate those who show real commitment and dedication to apprenticeship delivery in our sector”.  

Simon continued; “The Apprenticeship Awards are part of our ongoing commitment toward Apprenticeships. As we continue to manage trailblazers across the sector we aresupporting the government’s commitment to increase the quality of apprenticeships through new employer driven standards. These new standards will not only increase the robustness of apprenticeships in our sector, but also develop new and exciting career progression and opportunity in the industry.”  

The winners will be announced at an exclusive event at the House of Commons in London on 26 February 2015.
