Luton Hoo Hotel names assistant C&B manager Ebony employee of the year

Five-star countryside hotel Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa has celebrated the hard work and dedication of its assistant C&B manager Ebony Dolly by naming her employee of the year.
Ebony, who has worked at the luxury hotel since 2015, was awarded the accolade of employee of the year for her exceptional guest service, her mentoring of new team members and her positive and supportive attitude.

The award was presented to Ebony on Friday 4 January by general manager of Luton Hoo Hotel, Matthew Long, at the hotel’s annual staff party. The winner of the award was chosen by the hotel’s management team, who voted on a shortlist of staff who had previously been nominated for the hotel’s staff recognition programme, ‘Going the Extra Mile’.

General manager Matthew Long, said: “I was delighted to present Ebony with the employee of the year award. Since joining us back in 2015 she has developed into a great team leader who can always be relied on to motivate others and sets an excellent example to her colleagues. She is a great ambassador for Luton Hoo, who is always striving to improve whilst demonstrating a genuine love for her role at all times. Ebony embodies the ideal of ‘Going the Extra Mile’ and was a worthy winner of this award”.

Speaking after receiving her award, Ebony said: “Being named employee of the year was completely unexpected, and I was so overcome with emotion that I cried! It felt rewarding knowing that the managers around me had recognised my hard work and commitment to the company. I love working at Luton Hoo – the C&B team feel like my second family, they’ve been very supportive and hardworking and I can’t express my gratitude enough. The busy Christmas period showed how important it is to pull together as a team, and I think teamwork really is the most important skill to have in this job. Working in events is my passion and I hope to do so for a long time.”
