Headingley’s stars scoop award

The Headingley Experience team, which manages conferencing and events at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Leeds, scooped the Comparitive Unit Sales Growth Award at the annual Star Awards, organised by leading UK catering company, Sodexo.
The Star Awards ceremony is the highlight of the Sodexo calendar and recognises the most outstanding of its 34,000 employees across 23 categories.

The award was presented to general manager John Hill and his team, at a ceremony at London’s Westminster Park Plaza Hotel, hosted by comedian and television personality Patrick Kielty, for their success in increasing year on year sales by 17.5 per cent.

The Headingley Carnegie stadium, which is home to Leeds Rhinos Rugby Club and Yorkshire County Cricket Club boasts the only function room in the country with views of two, international sports grounds.

The Long Room in Headingley’s East Stand can seat up to 360 diners and the Legends Suite can seat up to 50 for conferences, dinners or private functions and both have video-linked televisions and boast clear views of the cricket pitch.

Alternatively, the Premier and Executive suites can seat 200 and 120 diners respectively and offer panoramic views of the Headingley Carnegie test cricket arena along with full audio visual connectivity.

Rugby fans are catered for at the Lewis Jones suite at the top floor of the new Carnegie Stand, which provides views of the rugby stadium and the city beyond.
