Accolades for Costa Cruises in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards

Costa Cruises has scored two placings in the annual USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The cruise line placed fourth in the ‘Best Ocean Cruise Line’ category while the passenger cruise ship Costa Deliziosa was named runner-up for ‘Best Cruise Ship for Entertainment’.

The 2,260-passenger Costa Deliziosa offers a wide array of activities and brings an authentic touch of Italy to its voyages from Florida to the Caribbean with four restaurants, 11 bars, three pools, a theatre, dance club and casino.

Neil Palomba, President of Costa Cruises, said: “Our ships offer the finest hospitality and we are proud that our holidays have a unique Italian touch. We are delighted that our experience is appreciated in the USA and we will continue to implement a series of new exclusive experiences to make our guests happy.”

Costa’s new ‘Italy’s Finest’ and ‘Happiness Squared’ initiatives have revamped the on-board culinary and entertainment offering by bringing the best Italian brands and traditions to sea. This includes new regional and gala night menus by Michelin-star Chefs Fabio Cucchelli and Bruno Barbieri, and partnerships with leading Italian brands like Barilla, Illy Caffé and Ferrari.

The new Pummid’Oro pizzerias serve pizzas with dough made from 100% natural yeast thanks to special collaboration between Costa Cruises and the University of Gastronomic Science in Pollenzo. Guests can also taste Italian ice-creams of Agrimontana at the Gelateria Amarillo and gourmet burgers with quality 100% Italian Fassona beef.  Guests can enjoy Italian aperitivo, with various cocktails including the spritz.

Costa Cruises celebrate traditional Italian customs with themed parties such as La Notte in Maschera and La Notte Bianca. The celebrations include the masked Venetian carnival and a white night festival. Voyages in 2016 will also offer entertainment with more contemporary influences - from April 2016 guests will be able to participate in ‘The Voice of the Sea’, a singing competition based on the television programme The Voice. Young cruisers will also be delighted to hear that Peppa Pig will be making an appearance in the kids club, alongside treasure hunts and ice cream parties.

Costa Deliziosa is currently sailing a series of 10-night itineraries from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Guests can enjoy Costa’s unique Italian ambience while seeing more of the Caribbean than typically offered on a traditional Caribbean cruise with calls at Nassau or Freeport, Bahamas; Amber Cove, Dominican Republic; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; Roatan; and Cozumel or Costa Maya, Mexico.
