The Athenaeum Hotel & Apartments wins Global Luxury Hotel Award

And the award for Luxury Unique Hotel of the Year goes to … London’s Athenaeum Hotel & Apartments.

Voted for by the Editor in Chief of The Luxury Travel Guide and a team of global luxury travel experts, the award is hugely prestigious and influential. The Luxury Travel Guide is regarded as a bible for affluent travellers who will often base their choice of hotel on its recommendations.

“We are absolutely delighted to win this award which is a tribute to the hard work, attention to detail and sheer professionalism of all the team here at the Athenaeum,” commented General Manager Jeremy Hopkins. “We pride ourselves on being the London home for discerning travellers from both the UK and world wide, many of whom return again and again to the Athenaeum and become friends of the hotel.”

The Luxury Travel Award recognise and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the affluent travel and tourism industry. “Our team of experts have scoured the Globe and travelled extensively in order to identify the very best hotels.”

Family owned and family friendly, the five-star Athenaeum Hotel & Apartments is the heart of fashionable London – Buckingham Palace can be viewed from many of the 164 rooms and Green Park is literally over the road. Linked to the hotel are 18 luxury apartments which are favourites with celebrities from all over the world for their discrete luxury and private front door in Mayfair.

The family friendly attitude is emphasised by a dedicated “kids concierge” who can organise a wealth of entertainment for children. In contrast the hotel also has award-winning afternoon teas, an amazing Whiskey bar featuring over 300 verities of whiskies and whiskeys from around the world. The exterior fronts on to Piccadilly and is renowned for its “living wall” of plants and flowers.
