The Lensbury’s Executive Head Chef wins coveted Master Innholders award

The Lensbury’s Executive Head Chef, Gerald Quadros, has won a place on the esteemed Master Innholders Hotel Management scholarship programme. The awards, which are in their 23rd year, are designed to ‘influence standards and extend professionalism within the industry’.

Gerald will take part in a two-week management development course at the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland. Overall some 18 hotel managers from some of the most luxurious and prestigious hotels in the UK were awarded places on the scheme. The participants are chosen by an 11 person committee after submitting a paper and then an extensive interview process during which they must demonstrate a clear commitment to the industry.

“This is a fantastic honour for me to be accepted into the Innholders scholarship programme.” said Gerald Quadros, “It’s very prestigious for both myself and The Lensbury. You know when you get down to the last 30 that you have a chance to make it onto the final list and it is very humbling when you know that you have”.

Stuart Johnson, general manager of Brown’s hotel and chairman of the scholarship selection panel, said: “The high quality of the submissions this year made the selection panel’s task extremely difficult. It is against this backdrop that we were delighted to be in a position to provide so many scholarships, and we congratulate all those who have been selected to receive this prestigious award.”

Alumni go on to join St Julian Scholars and are encouraged to mentor others and share their professional knowledge, for the benefit of the industry at large.
